The Golden Knights dominated the opening period, holding Vegas to a mere three shots – the franchise’s lowest total for a first period all season. However, the tide began to turn in the second frame, with Alex Kerfoot putting the Coyotes on the board.

Vegas regained control early in the third period, with goals from William Karlsson and Mark Stone extending their lead to 3-1. But that’s when the magic happened for Arizona.

Chandler Stevenson sparked the comeback with a beautiful goal midway through the third, followed by Matias Maccelli capitalizing on a fortuitous deflection to cut the lead to 3-2. Moments later, Reilly Smith found the back of the net to tie the game at 3-3.

The momentum completely shifted in Arizona’s favor. Michael Carcone netted two goals in quick succession, with the second one initially ruled offside but overturned on a successful coach’s challenge. The Coyotes weren’t done yet, as Lawson Crouse added another goal to make it 6-3.

Vegas attempted a late rally, with Alec Martinez scoring on a power play, but the goal was called back due to offside. Capping off the improbable comeback, Nicolas Roy scored an empty-netter to seal the 7-4 victory for Arizona.

This win marks a significant moment for the young Coyotes team. Not only did they defeat the reigning champions, but they did so in dramatic fashion, showcasing their never-say-die spirit. The Golden Knights, on the other hand, will be left scratching their heads after letting a seemingly comfortable lead slip away.
