A horrific bus crash in South Africa Limpopo province has claimed the lives of 45 people. The tragedy unfolded on Thursday when a bus carrying passengers to an Easter service in Botswana veered off course.
According to the Department of Transport, the driver lost control of the vehicle, sending it plummeting off a bridge and into a ravine below. The wreckage burst into flames, further complicating rescue efforts.
Miraculously, a single survivor, an 8-year-old child, was found amidst the wreckage. Emergency services are currently on the scene, with recovery efforts hampered by the mangled bus and the ravine’s depth. Reports indicate at least 36 bodies have been recovered so far, with search teams continuing to sift through the debris for any remaining victims.
